Sage Lane obtained his undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma before traveling to Texas to pursue his graduate degree in public health with a concentration in biostatistics.
“My first position was in Chicago, working for a Medicare contractor. We looked at fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare. We were contracted by the government and worked with law enforcement to alleviate those issues. After that, I worked for a marketing firm here in the Denver area.”
After realizing that marketing was not for him, Lane began looking in a new direction and found SEAKR.
“The initial job description of what I would be doing at SEAKR got me interested. I did more research and I liked what I saw in terms of the size and culture of SEAKR. When I started interviewing, I felt I would fit in. I met Mark Taylor – my director – Sara Green, Vivian Mathewson, and Eric Storms during the interview process. I knew it would be a smaller team. They gave me a very good vibe and I thought they would be a great team to work with.”
As Lane dives into his role, he gave us a sneak peek as to what he would be doing on a day-to-day basis.
“A big part of my job is interfacing with different business units. They are kind of like our client, but it is an internal client making it a symbiotic relationship; they want the same questions answered. I enjoy that I am going to be working alongside people here at SEAKR and helping them answer some of the questions that they have about their own data. Everyone is invested in the same thing.”
Outside of work, you can find Lane lounging at his signature coffee shop near Capitol Hill, working on one of many hobby projects.
“Right now, I am working on a really basic iOS game. It’s already functional, but unfortunately it crashes after a while and I can’t open it again. Mainly it’s just something fun to do. I always want to be learning and doing something new. This is a way for me to do something different.”
SEAKR is excited to welcome Sage Lane to the team!
