SEAKR Supports DigitalGlobe’s Next-Generation Imaging Satellite Constellation
SEAKR provides payload processing for WorldView Legion constellation
CENTENNIAL, Colo., – October 31, 2017 – Raytheon selected SEAKR Engineering, Inc. to provide their Hyperion system for the imaging payloads that will be integrated with DigitalGlobe’s WorldView Legion satellite constellation. The Hyperion system will provide the electrical interface between the satellite bus and Raytheon’s payload. Its capabilities include processing, compression and data storage.
SEAKR has delivered and flown Solid State Recorders on nearly all DigitalGlobe missions, including four WorldView satellites. SEAKR also delivered the Spacecraft Control Processor for WorldView-3.

Raytheon’s new payload doubles DigitalGlobe’s capacity to capture multispectral and 30 cm imagery, while tripling to quadrupling the company’s capacity to image high-demand areas. Once the WorldView Legion constellation is on orbit, DigitalGlobe’s combined constellation will be able to image the most rapidly changing areas on Earth every 20 to 30 minutes, from sunup to sundown, giving customers the ability to make critical decisions with confidence when time is of the essence. The first of the WorldView Legion satellites will be launched in 2020.
